Primary School

Below is my own story. =)

Although I'm just turning 18 this year, but from what I've observed, education plays an very important role in one's character. I think everyone deserved a proper education since young. Although school days are kinda.. boring, but it is the fundamentals for us when we step outside.

Why?

Let me tell you how I actually realized how schools made an impact to my life. I'm born and raised in kampong area. It's called Singkir. (omg, google can seriously find anything). My very first education I ever get is of course, kindergarden over there. But er, nothing much on that as I had no memory at all of that time. HEHE.

By the time I need to attend primary school, that's about 7 I think? Dad decided that, I need to get better and proper education. So we moved to Alor Star, the capital of Kedah. I was then enrolled to SMJK(C) Keat Hwa K, one of the well known school among Chinese in Alor Star, because it was some what associated with SMK Keat Hwa secondary school. Er, more on that, later.

But the school was rather.. awful. But this 1 I can't find in google. Let me explain to you. That time, there are actually two schools (Keat Hwa K and Keat Hwa H) sharing the same building. One school in the morning session, and the other one in the afternoon session, and it changes every year, like, this year Keat Hwa K will be on morning session, the next year it will be on afternoon session. The cycle goes like this.

So sharing the same building means, sharing the same classrooms, the same hall, the same facilities, and well, almost everything, except the students, teachers, and the management. You know when two school share the same thing, for sure they will "fight" over something and not only the school, sometimes when you go to school, you might find the table gone missing, well, or maybe a more romantic one, a "love-letter" under your desk.

If you were to ask me, what's the most unforgettable thing ever happened to me in my primary school, I would tell you that it was the time where I, me, get a stroke from teacher because of the word "infamous". Ah. Yes. I'm not making this shit out.

I don't know how it all get started, my Chinese teacher was asking us about english vocabulary, if the memory serves me well. A friend of mine said "famous" I think, and well, without thinking twice, I said out loud, lao shi, INFAMOUS!

And she freaking stared at me.

You know what she said after that?

"Infamous?! There is no such word as infamous! You don't simply talk!"

Er, I'm standard 5 that time.. which mean I'm 11. And I'm freaking sure that is a word called INFAMOUS. eh hello you all know what INFAMOUS mean right?

And then, before I even have a chance to defend myself, SHE FREAKING CANED ME! YES I'M NOT MAKING THIS SHIT OUT. She caned me because I said "INFAMOUS", which is, not a English word for her. SHE DID!

Sigh. I think she hate me very much, so she simply find a reason to cane me. =x.

That's not the only case. Sigh the chinese school is making me so traumatized.

I remember it was Pre-UPSR test. And well, we are allocated to other class and with separate people sitting inside the class. There was this girl teacher, who look after us in the classroom. Half way in the exam, I noticed she actually closed her eye (or the eye looking down the floor, according to her) for quite a long period of time.

So after that paper we went back to our class, and discussing discussing when I said that, "eh, the teacher just now sleeping in the class lor! HAHA"

And the teacher (not the 1 sleeping) actually covered and say that maybe she was too tired and whatever. I'm not thinking too much that time, and taught it was just something I said and people will actually forget it.

I was wrong. So wrong.

So the next paper, the examiner is the same teacher again. Well I taught nothing gonna happen, I mean, I don't even remember the fact that I just said she slept in the class. And after finish the paper, it was when my nightmare kicks in.

She said, "Hold on. Who actually said that I slept in the class just now?"

Oh god. My classmate were looking at me, at I was panic. I was like, how the hell she knew?

Err, being a hero that time, *cough*, I raised my hand, and I said, "Teacher, Me, but.."

She said "Okay the rest, you can go out, and you, come here"

She immediately turned into..

...a tiger shouting at me!

I can't remember exactly what she said, but I remember she just keep scolding me for saying she was sleeping while the exam was going on.

It was recess time. The "crowd" was getting bigger.

And I'm trying to explain myself and she..end it up with a slap on my face.

I shit you not she SLAP ME ON MY FACE!

Oh god. Is that one of the reason why I'm so scared to get in chinese school after this? =x

Well of course, my life in primary school is not only getting slap or caned, I do have glory moment. *cough*

Entering the school in the last class for the first year, I managed to climb to the fourth class in the second year. Third year and fourth year I managed to get in second class and in the fifth year, which is Standard 5 will be the most happening year for me, I think?

Standard 5, I was in second class, which is, 5 Kuning. Don't laugh! And I was, the class monitor that time (only few months only before my place got replaced.. KEKE). For the first 3 exam, I scored the first in the class. I don't know how this happen. I don't seems like studying in home, and I have no idea at all how it happen. But for the 4th exam I get 10th in class, and for the final exam, I get the first in class again. And this qualifies me to get in the first class for next year, 6 Merah.

If you think that going to 6 Merah will make my result even better, you're wrong. I started to wonder if the reason of me getting 1st in class is because of the rest in the class is too stupid. Those freak in the first class are smart like! Oh My God. and I never climb to Top 10 since then. Not even Top 25.

I was at the Bottom 5. =x
